The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
