Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 Until ye come to the graves. 2 But you will soon come to know. 3 Again, ye soon shall know! 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
