As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 And most surely they turn them away from the path, and they think that they are guided aright: 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. 39 Canst thou (Muhammad) make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is in error manifest? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. 43 And verily it is an admonition unto thee and thy people; and presently ye will be questioned. 44 And ask those of Our apostles whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent Allah? 45

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
