Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
