And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Away, away with that you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 to the Pharaoh and his nobles. But they behaved proudly and thought themselves superior people. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
