And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they add, "When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this] if you are men of truth!" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
