The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 and defilement flee! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he beheld, 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
