Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 till you reached the grave. 2 No! You are going to know. 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Indeed you will see hell. 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
