It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders; 16 and guarded them from every accursed Satan 17 excepting such as listens by stealth -- and he is pursued by a manifest flame. 18 We have spread out the earth, fixed mountains thereupon and caused everything to grow to its proper weight 19 And We have appointed thereon for you livelihoods and also for those of whom ye are not the providers. 20 Of all things there are We have the stores, and send them down in determined measure. 21 We send rain-impregnated winds, and water from the sky which you drink, but you are not the keepers of its store. 22 It is We who give life and cause things to die and We are the sole Heirs. 23 To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind. 24 It is your Lord who will gather them. He is all wise and all knowing. 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
