Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
