O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 And they who do not associate anything with their Lord 59 and who give whatever they [have to] give with their hearts trembling at the thought that unto their Sustainer they must return: 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 and surely they that believe not in the world to come are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
