The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sun and his morning brightness 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 And by the heaven and Him Who built it; 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 By the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it; 7 and inspired it with its sin and its piety, 8 To a happy state shall indeed attain he who causes this [self] to grow in purity, 9 And he is indeed a failure who stunteth it. 10 In their presumptuous insolence the Thamud called the Truth a lie 11 When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel). 12 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" 13 But they called him a liar and hamstrung her. So God obliterated them for their crime, and (destroyed) all of them alike. 14 and He fears not the issue thereof. 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
