The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 who observe Zakah; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We have created seven ways above you; of Our creation, We are never inattentive. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
