The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
