The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
