Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
