۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 See then the end of those who were warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
