Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
