Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 Who hath created seven heavens in storeys. Thou shalt not behold in the Compassionate's creation any over-sight; then repeat thy look, beholdest thou any crack? 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 And they will answer: "Surely; a warner came to us, but we denied him, and said: 'God did not send down any thing; you are greatly deluded, in fact.'" 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
