Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We might try them there by. And whosoever turneth aside from the remembrance of his Lord, him He shall thrust into a torment vehement. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
