The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 by a burning fire 5 As they sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
