The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And affirms goodness, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
