T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 the All Merciful settled on the throne. 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 "Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Moses? 17 He said, “This is my staff; I support myself on it, and I knock down leaves for my sheep with it, and there are other uses for me in it.” 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
