Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
