The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount; 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 On an open record. 3 by the much-visited House, 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Surely the godfearing shall be in gardens and bliss, 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
