The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen*; these are verses of the Qur’an and the clear Book. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 A guidance and glad tidings unto the believers. 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. 4 It is they for whom a grievous chastisement lies in store; it is they who shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. 5 And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah. 6 (Remember) when Moses said to his family: "I see a fire. I shall bring you news from it, or bring an ember that you may warm yourselves." 7 And when he came near it he was called: 'Blessed be who is (Moses) in the fire and (the angels) who are around it! Exaltations to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 8 O Moses, I am God, the Powerful, the Wise. 9 "Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,- 10 Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful. 11 And enter your hand into the opening of your bosom, it shall come forth white without evil; among nine signs to Firon and his people, surely they are a transgressing people. 12 But when Our tokens came unto them, plain to see, they said: This is mere magic, 13 They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! 14
