The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AlifLaamMeem. 1 The Romans have been conquered 2 In a nearer land; and they, after the overcoming of them, shall soon overcome. 3 In a few years (less than ten). God's is the imperative first and last. On that day the believers will rejoice 4 In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 5 This is Allah's promise; and Allah faileth not His promise. Yet most men know not. 6 They know the outward of this world's life, but of the hereafter they are absolutely heedless. 7 Do they not ponder about their own selves? God has created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for a purpose and for an appointed time? Yet many deny they will ever meet with their Lord. 8 What, have they not journeyed in the land and beheld how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than themselves in might, and they ploughed up the earth and cultivated it more than they themselves have cultivated it; and their Messengers came to them with the clear signs; and God would never wrong them, but themselves they wronged. 9 Then the end of those that did evil was evil, for that they cried lies to the signs of God and mocked at them. 10
