The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
