The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 And by the moon as it follows it (the sun); 2 and by the day as it reveals its glory 3 And by oath of the night when it hides it 4 By the heaven and Him Who builded it, 5 by the earth and Who spread it, 6 Consider the human self, and how it is formed in accordance with what it is meant to be, 7 and how it is imbued with moral failings as well as with consciousness of God! 8 He is indeed successful who causeth it to grow, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 In their presumptuous insolence the Thamud called the Truth a lie 11 When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel). 12 although God's apostle had told them, "It is a she-camel belonging to God, so let her drink [and do her no harm]!" 13 In response they belied him, and hamstrung the she camel so Allah put ruin over them because of their sins and flattened their dwellings. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
True are the words of God the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
