The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in outstretched columns. 9
