The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
