Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 He who is given his ledger in his right hand, will say: "Here, read my ledger. 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
