The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
