Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust: 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 And will you [always,] whenever you lay hand [on others,] lay hand [on them] cruelly, without any restraint? 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall not be punished." 138 So they cried him lies; then We destroyed them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
