Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the sinners. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
