The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 you pay attention 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
