The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
