The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by this city, Makkah - 1 And thou shalt be allowed in yonder city 2 And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;- 3 That We created man in toil and trouble. 4 Thinks he that none can overcome him? 5 And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth: 6 Does he think that no one has seen him? 7 Did We not grant him two eyes, 8 And a tongue and two lips? 9 And have shown him the two ways? 10 But he has made no effort to pass on the path that is steep. 11 And what have you understood, what the valley is! 12 (It is:) freeing the bondman; 13 Or feeding on a day of severe hunger 14 An orphan, of kin, 15 Or to a Miskin (poor) afflicted with misery. 16 And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion. 17 Those who do so are the people of the right hand, 18 And those who disbelieve in Our signs, they are the Companions of the Left Hand; 19 who will be engulfed in the fire. 20
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
