'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 140
