In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and yellow camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
