In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
