A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 This is a Book revealed to you. Let there be no impediment in your heart about it. (It has been revealed to you) that you may thereby warn [the unbelievers], that it may be a reminder to the believers. 2 (People), follow whatever is revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other guardians besides Him. However, you pay very little attention (to Our words) 3 Many a habitation have We laid low before: Our retribution came upon them in the night or in the midst of siesta at noon. 4 No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: "Verily, we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)". 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 And We have given you (mankind) power in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks! 10
