۞ O mankind! ye are needers unto Allah, and Allah! He is the Self-Sufficient, the Praiseworthy 15 If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation. 16 This would not cost God dear at all. 17 And a burdened soul cannot bear the burden of another and if one weighed down by burden should cry for (another to carry) its burden, not aught of it shall be carried, even though he be near of kin. You warn only those who fear their Lord in secret and keep up prayer; and whoever purifies himself, he purifies himself only for (the good of) his own soul; and to Allah is the eventual coming. 18 And the blind and the seeing are not alike 19 Nor is darkness (tantamount to) light; 20 nor shade and heat 21 And not equal are the living and the dead! Indeed Allah causes them to listen*, whomever He wills; and you cannot make those who are in the graves** listen. (* Listen to guidance **The disbelievers are referred to as dead, whose fates are sealed.) 22 You, [O Muhammad], are not but a warner. 23 Lo! We have sent thee with the Truth, a bearer of glad tidings and a warner; and there is not a nation but a warner hath passed among them. 24 If they call you a liar, so had those before them called their apostles liars, who had come to them with clear proofs, scriptures and the splendent Book. 25 Then I seized the disbelievers; so how did denial My rejection turn out? 26
