And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon. 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And We guided them on the straight path. 118 And We left for them (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 121 They are among Our faithful devotees. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 Do you call on Ba'lan (the idol Baal) and abandon the Best Creator, 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?" 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 131 surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 When We rescued him and his entire household. 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 and in the night; will you not understand? 138
