Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
89 verses, revealed in Mecca after Consultation (Al-Shooraa) before Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 AND YET, they attribute to Him offspring from among some of the beings created by Him! Verily, most obviously bereft of all gratitude is man! 15

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
