Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
