People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
