And Aaron indeed had told them beforehand: O my people! Ye are but being seduced therewith, for lo! your Lord is the Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order. 90 But they answered: "By no means shall we cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 Musa said: O Harun! what prevented thee, when thou sawest them going astray. 92 From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?" 93 He said: O son of my mother! seize me not by my beard nor by my head; surely I was afraid lest you should say: You have caused a division among the children of Israel and not waited for my word. 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 (Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!" 97 Your God is only Allah, the One other than whom there is no god. He comprehendeth everything in knowledge. 98 So We relate to thee stories of what has gone before, and We have given thee a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection, 101 the Day when the trumpet shall be blown: We shall gather all the sinners on that Day. Their eyes will turn blue with terror 102 In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)." 103 We know well what they will utter, whereas the wisest among them will say, “You have stayed just for a day.” 104
