Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
