The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of later ages, 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 And water everflowing. 31 and abundant fruits, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
