Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
